Happy Nine Months!!
Dear Kyan- Our baby boy is nine months old today. It's hard to believe time has gone so fast, but when we look back at what was happening at 6 months, it seems it's been years!
We've just gotten our own place, so you have your own room, and every other day (the day we're not unpacking with stuff EVERYwhere) you have as much room as you want to move around. You're about a minute and a half from crawling, but in the meantime you roll everywhere you want to go. It's very efficient for you, I'll turn my back and next thing I know you're at my feet again. Your toys are facinating to you, finally, and you will entertain yourself for hours. You "talk" to your toys with a never ending babble, sometimes you talk to us too- at full volume you are quite impossible to ignore. Even when we're trying to because we're trying to make yet another decision about shelf placement or some such decorating thing.
One time we CAN'T ignore you is when you're hungry. You are such a good eater, and you're starting to eat everything we eat- only healthier. You're starting to have herbs, spices and mommy's favorite- condiments! Not surprisingly, you like mustard and ketchup. Havn't tried you on the hot sauce yet. You're still nursing, but less times a day, which is good with my job starting. Still need your middle of the night snack though. But other than that, since you've gotten your own room, you are sleeping SO WELL, for naps and for nighttime. Your bedtime is around 11:30, which means that we can get things done at night. Wow! It's amazing what a difference it makes!
You had your first real babysitting experience last weekend, when Aunt Kate's mum Bette watched you while we watched Aunt Kate be a candlestick. While we were nervous all night that you would pick on Bette, she said over and over what a wonderful baby you are. And you are! The most even tempered, patient, beautiful and happy baby. Happy nine months, baby guy!
