Happy Birthday to you!
Dear Kyan-
You are six months old today. How did we get here so fast? You are learning to do new things every day, and we can't keep up! You love to roll over, but only from your belly to your back. You've discovered your toes, and will hold on to them and grin. Until you get bored with them. And do you get bored! You want to be on the go and constantly experiencing things and get very impatient if things stay stagnant too long. Luckily, you're starting to be interested in all the wonderful toys you have and will play with yourself sometimes so Mommy and Daddy can get things done.
In the morning now, if you're not too too hungry and it's not been too too long since you've eaten, you will lay in your crib and coo. Then it turns to talking. Why is it that you talk so much more when you have a fist or a finger in your mouth? Once a day or so, you will turn into a talking machine. You LOVE to communicate and love to be talked to. You're starting to flirt with the ladies who speak to you at the grocery store or on the street. Everyone stops us to tell us how beautiful you are, and you are. You are the most beautiful baby in the world. And I'm not just saying it because you're sleeping thru the night! But that is a wonderful thing, and you are a wonderful sleeper. But you know what you are good at more than anything? EATING! You're up to seven different foods so far- rice cereal, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, peas, avacado, bananas and oatmeal. You love sweet potato and pumpkin and hated avacado and REALLY hated bananas. But we only just tried this morning, you might like it tomorrow. Because you REALLY like to eat. You attack your spoon like you're starving, and eat almost four tablespoons at a time. Waiting for it to thaw (because you're eating real people food pureed and frozen) is torture... for you and for us.
But the best thing is your laugh. You giggle maniacally when we nuzzle your neck or belly. And your smile lights up our hearts. We love you so, so much and can't wait to see what the next six months bring!
