St. Rosalie Fair Part One

St. Rosalie is the church that Jimmy's mothers family grew up in, it's also the elementary school that Jimmy and his cousins went to. Jimmy's grandfather lived right down the street for 60+ years. Every year, they have a fair- not what I thought of as typical church fair. For example, the daiquiri booth was RIGHT next to the church. As was the beer booth. And the gambling table. I'll let you think on that.
Hello, daiquiris!
Church. Daiquiri booth.
Shawn and Jimmy. with Beer.
Rockin' Dopsie (Jr) and the Zydeco Twisters. At the church.
The church in which I nursed my son.
The crowd.
To be continued....

Lots of "Uncles" and "Aunts"

Kyan likes Christine!
Kyan doesn't like Todd.
Caroline and Eleanore don't like Jimmy picking on them.
Back when the game was very very good. Bad Spartans!
Shawn and Ike discuss the good ol' days.
Little rocker baby getting ready for a night out!

Some more hanging around Grandma's House

Chewing on Daddy's finger is the new "thing." Think he's teething?
That's my monkey!
Weee!
ohhh, tired from chewing.

Baby on Bourbon St

There is a little store on Bourbon St in the French Quarter that we try to visit every time we come into town- mostly because we find fabulous jewelry there every time. So we packed up the baby and headed down.
Baby Kyan's first Mardi Gras beads- monkeys! Can't tell, but it matches his onesie.
The Family on Bourbon St.
We did not in fact get huge beers to go- but we couldn't pass the sign up.

Hanging around at Grandma's house

Kyan's first MSU game!!!

Jimmy's old bike racing jacket. Considering the fact that he probably weighed about 100 lbs when he got this, he's lookin pretty good getting in it to me!

The McDaniel Family

On our way to New Orleans, we stopped and spent some time with Jimmy's father and his Aunt Dottie (Nanny) in Marksville. When we went to Nanny's she had a beautiful home and a beautiful pool:
Kyan's ready for swimming!
Too bad the water's sort of chilly
Jimmy's cousin Alan (who recently passed away) has a daughter and a son I had never met, as well as a beautiful, vivacious granddaughter Lexie. She wasted no time cozying up to Kyan!
Russell and Jennifer with their daughter Lexie, and Jennifer's brother Richard.
Lexie wanted to hold the baby!
"He wants his daddy, can I take him to his daddy?"
And three generations of McDaniel men. (well, two are Alcumbrack McDaniel's, but the more names the merrier, hmm?)
