Busy Parents!! and baby butt

The lazy days of sitting around staring at our son seem like a fuzzy memory. We're starting to feel the crunch of time. Only a few more weeks to tie up all our loose ends- and see our friends as much as we can. Somehow this weekend we ended up with parties Friday Saturday and Sunday. When are we supposed to pack?? Tonight was Angie and Andy's Pre-Wedding reception, and we had lots of fun- got to see a bunch of work friends. I'm starting to feel really sad about leaving people behind. But no time to dwell on that now, we have to sleep so that we can get up and get a few hours of heavy packing in before tomorrow's social obligations. Don't get me wrong- I know we're only invited cause they know we'll bring Kyan.

Here's a few pics from tonight!

In other news, we got his social security card today. Congratulations, we now officially own a citizen. Yeee.

The CRAZIEST THING EVER

So I was on the phone with my mom yesterday, and we started talking about birth certificates.
She'd found one of mine and wanted to know if I needed it. I pulled out the copy I had and said no, I have one. She mentioned idly that the name of the dr that delivered me was Scott, not Joe like she'd thought. I said, that's weird, the physician that delivered Kyan was Scott too. Yes, Scott C. Sanborn, THE EXACT SAME DOCTOR THAT DELIVERD ME DELIVERED MY SON. When I was born he was a resident at U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor, and in '79 he came 2200 miles to Woodland Hills, CA to Kaiser. Where he stayed till I happened to deliver while he was the dr on call.

This doesn't happen in real life. I mean, seriously. I wasn't born in some backwoods tiny town where the town physician delivers everyone for three generations that doesn't escape to the big city. Ann Arbor's population is 114,000, Woodland Hills has 61,000. It's been 28 years. 2200 miles. This is CRAZY.

While you're thinking about that, I'll post some pictures of my baby. Since that's why you're here. Oh, and hey! Leave comments! I love to see who has stopped by and I love to hear what you think.

Kyan Retrospective, NICU version

here's some of the scary pictures. Not quite so scary since he's home with us now and cuddling with Jimmy, but still not fun.

Kyan Retrospective Part 1

Thought I'd take a slow picture moment (jimmy's back to work, and somehow I'm too busy to take new pictures during the day) and post some pictures from before the blog began. Pregnancy and birth pictures first, then NICU pictures on the next post. So here we go!
